about

This record is about endings and beginnings, if we’re being vague to the point of cliché. It’s about leaving. It’s about saying goodbye. It’s about looking back. And looking forward.

This record is about learning to grow with/in chaos. Chaos is a loaded word. We just mean, when we say chaos, that feeling that slowly forms when you look around one day and notice things seem different than the way you remember them. That feeling of confusion. Of overwhelm.

This record is about chaotic endings bleeding into chaotic beginnings. It's about the transient in-between, about the challenges of coming to terms with the multitude of feelings brought on by change.

This record is about coming to terms with the complexities of life in time, of learning to love and accept where you’ve been and where you’re going while remembering to love and accept where you are now. It's about learning to love and accept where the people you hold dearest may find themselves, accepting who they’ve been and who they’re becoming beside you as you’re becoming something new, too.

Jon Marshall Smith mixed and mastered it at JMS Mastering in Asheville, NC. Phil played bass on every song except Heaven II. Arbel Nagar provided the illustrations of Bunny, Horsie and Zebu. Julie Chencinski arranged and designed the cover and insert.
